Magpul/Noveske MPLA SPR Limited Edition 5.56mm NATO Semi-Auto Rifle — Rare 2008–2009 Collaborative AR-15, 18" Noveske SPR fluted barrel, Geissele SSA Trigger, SureFire Brake
This MPLA SPR is one of fewer than 75 rifles built in 2008–2009 through a collaboration between Magpul and Noveske. Serial block A00xx identifies it as part of the original limited run. Collectors value these rifles for their combination of Noveske’s precision barrels, Magpul’s billet lower marked “Magpul Armament Co.,” and a feature set that was ahead of its time. Its excellent condition and complete factory configuration make it a standout example of this scarce model.

The heart of this rifle is an 18" stainless Noveske SPR fluted barrel featuring polygonal rifling, a 1:7 twist, and laser-engraved flats marked “✚ 5.56 7 PT.” The barrel is paired with Noveske’s intermediate-length gas system and capped by a SureFire MB556K muzzle brake that doubles as a suppressor mount.
The billet 7075-T6 lower receiver carries the rare “Magpul Armament Co.” roll mark and provides ambidextrous magazine release controls. A Geissele SSA two-stage trigger delivers a crisp, predictable break suited for precision shooting.
Furniture includes a Magpul UBR Gen 1 adjustable stock in FDE, a MIAD pistol grip, and an 11" free-float quad-rail handguard fitted with Magpul XTM rail covers. Dueck Defense Rapid Transition 45-degree RTS-1 front and RTS-2 rear iron sights give quick access to backup aiming without removing optics.
The rifle runs a direct-impingement action with a NiB or hard-chrome bolt carrier, ensuring smooth operation and ease of cleaning. Its black anodized receivers and FDE furniture create the distinctive two-tone look associated with early Magpul/Noveske collaborations.
