Browning X-Bolt Hunter Grade I Walnut .30-06 Bolt Action Rifle – Early 2008 Production, 22" Barrel
This first-year X-Bolt Hunter Grade I pairs Browning’s modern three-lug, 60° lift action with classic satin-finished walnut. Manufactured by Miroku in Japan and marked “PAT. PENDING,” it features a free-floated 22" sporter barrel with recessed crown, a user-adjustable Feather Trigger, and the reliable rotary magazine system that defines the X-Bolt line.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The walnut stock and matte-blued metal surfaces show scattered small scratches and blemishes that are strictly cosmetic. The bore is bright and shiny throughout.

Introduced in 2008, the X-Bolt brought several functional upgrades over earlier Browning bolt guns. This example showcases the rotary magazine that feeds cartridges in a straight line for smooth chambering, paired with a bottom-release lever for quick removal.
The action uses a three-lug bolt with a short 60° lift, giving the shooter ample scope clearance and faster cycling. A bolt-unlock button allows the bolt to be opened with the tang safety engaged, adding an extra measure of safe handling.
The 22" free-floated barrel wears a recessed target crown to protect the rifling, while the sporter contour keeps weight down without sacrificing accuracy potential. Browning’s NP proof mark is present.
The satin walnut stock features a straight comb, 18 LPI cut checkering, and an Inflex recoil pad designed to direct recoil down and away from the cheek. The Feather Trigger is factory set at approximately 3.5 lb and can be user-adjusted to suit personal preference.
