The 28-inch barrel is built from Winchester Proof Steel and wears a ventilated rib capped by a brass bead, giving a clear sight plane for wing-shooting. The early WinChoke system (added to the line in 1971) allows quick choke changes; this gun ships with a Cylinder tube installed for close-range patterns.
Inside, the 4-lug rotating bolt yields solid lock-up and positive extraction. The cross-bolt safety sits just behind the trigger for intuitive use, and the action breaks down via a simple take-down system to ease cleaning or storage.
