The metal-framed M&P9 Competitor is Smith & Wesson’s purpose-built, match-ready variant of the M2.0 series. Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in a durable Tungsten-Gray Cerakote, this full-size 9mm combines a 5-inch stainless steel barrel with an optics-ready, lightened slide and a tuned Performance Center trigger. Four 17-round magazines, modular grips, and a factory CORE plate kit complete a package aimed squarely at competitive shooters and discerning handgun enthusiasts.

Introduced in 2022, the Competitor is the first metal-frame M&P9, offering a rigid 7075-T6 aluminum grip module that resists flex and speeds follow-up shots. The removable flared magwell streamlines reloads yet can be taken off to meet specific competition-division rules.
Its stainless 5" barrel uses a recessed crown and 1:10 twist for consistent accuracy, while extensive slide lightening ports and serrations cut reciprocating mass and provide positive manipulation under stress.
The flat-faced Performance Center trigger incorporates a tuned sear for a crisp break and short, tactile reset. An oversized, reversible magazine release and four palm-swell backstraps let shooters tailor the pistol to hand size and stage demands.
A green fiber-optic front sight pairs with a black serrated rear, and the optics-ready CORE cut accepts today’s popular red-dot footprints. With four steel magazines and a factory parts kit included, this Competitor arrives fully equipped for the range.
