Introduced in January 2025, the third-generation M&P Shield X refines Smith & Wesson’s proven micro-compact formula with an optics-ready slide, a flat-faced 5-lb trigger, and a three-slot accessory rail rarely seen on guns this size. The result is a slim, striker-fired 9mm that carries easily while offering features normally reserved for larger pistols.

The Shield X slide is machined with aggressive wave-pattern serrations front and rear for confident manipulation, even under stress. A factory RMSc pattern “ClearSight” optics interface diverts muzzle gases away from the lens, helping maintain dot clarity during rapid fire.
Ameriglo LumiGreen tritium front and a black serrated U-notch rear sight deliver a clear, fast sight picture in daylight or low-light conditions. Should you add an optic, these irons remain unobtrusive backups.
The flat-faced trigger breaks at a consistent 5 pounds and incorporates a center safety hinge. Coupled with the reversible magazine release and absence of a manual thumb safety, the Shield X caters to shooters who prefer a straightforward, duty-style manual of arms.
A stainless-steel 3.6-inch barrel, Armornite-treated matte-black slide, and polymer frame keep weight down while resisting corrosion. Factory literature lists 13-round flush and 15-round extended magazine options; however, no magazine is supplied with this sale.
