FN SCAR 17S 7.62 NATO First-Generation Reciprocating-Charging-Handle Rifle – Flat Dark Earth
This is a first-generation FN SCAR 17S chambered in 7.62×51 NATO, featuring the now-discontinued reciprocating charging handle. Built on a monolithic Flat Dark Earth upper receiver with a short-stroke gas-piston system, it mirrors the USSOCOM Mk 17 while remaining a civilian-legal semi-automatic. Collectors value this early RCH configuration for its limited production, distinctive handling traits, and factory FDE finish.

The SCAR 17S employs a robust short-stroke gas-piston action with a two-position gas regulator, keeping fouling out of the receiver and enhancing reliability with 7.62 NATO pressure ranges.
Its 16.25-inch cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined steel barrel delivers long service life and consistent accuracy. A 1:12 RH twist optimizes stabilization for common 147–175 grain projectiles.
The monolithic FDE-anodized aluminum upper integrates a continuous numbered top rail and three removable accessory rails, providing ample real estate for optics, lights, and other mission-specific gear.
Ambidextrous controls—magazine release, safety selector, and a user-swappable reciprocating charging handle—let right- or left-handed shooters run the rifle without compromise.
The side-folding, six-position telescoping polymer stock offers a 12- to 15.25-inch length-of-pull range, an adjustable cheek riser, and a rubber buttpad, allowing fast adjustments for body armor or prone work.
