The SCAR 17S employs a robust short-stroke gas-piston action with a two-position gas regulator, keeping fouling out of the receiver and enhancing reliability with 7.62 NATO pressure ranges.
Its 16.25-inch cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined steel barrel delivers long service life and consistent accuracy. A 1:12 RH twist optimizes stabilization for common 147–175 grain projectiles.
The monolithic FDE-anodized aluminum upper integrates a continuous numbered top rail and three removable accessory rails, providing ample real estate for optics, lights, and other mission-specific gear.
Ambidextrous controls—magazine release, safety selector, and a user-swappable reciprocating charging handle—let right- or left-handed shooters run the rifle without compromise.
