Introduced in 2023, the Walther PDP Compact Steel Frame brings the PDP’s acclaimed ergonomics to an all-steel chassis that adds roughly 14 ounces over its polymer counterpart for noticeably softer recoil. This 4-inch model combines Walther’s flat-faced Performance Duty Trigger, raised SuperTerrain slide serrations, and a modular optics system that accepts mini-red-dot adapter plates without further milling. The result is a duty-class pistol with competition-grade control in a compact package.

The steel frame is QPQ-nitrided inside and out, delivering corrosion resistance while keeping the pistol’s lines uniform with the black nitrided slide. A removable alloy magwell speeds reloads yet complies with common competition rule sets.
Walther’s SuperTerrain serrations stand proud of the slide flats, giving a positive purchase even with wet or gloved hands. The slide is optics-ready from the factory, and the included red fiber-optic front sight pairs with a drift-adjustable steel rear for immediate usability.
The 4-inch steel barrel uses a 1:10" right-hand twist to stabilize a wide range of 9mm loads. Coupled with the extra mass of the frame, the pistol tracks flat, making fast follow-up shots easy.
Controls are set up for duty use: a reversible push-button magazine release, ambidextrous slide stop, and a flat-faced Performance Duty Trigger that breaks at approximately 5 pounds with a short, tactile reset.
