Glock G42 .380 ACP Micro-Compact, Early 2014 Production, USA-Made, Custom Granular Grip
This USA-made Glock G42 is an early 2014, AAX-prefix example of Glock’s first slimline, single-stack pistol. Announced at SHOT Show 2014, the G42 became Glock’s smallest and lightest model while offering a locked-breech design that avoids the import point restrictions applied to .380 ACP pistols. This particular pistol includes an after-market wrap-around granular grip texture overlay for enhanced traction without adding bulk.

Released as Glock’s first truly pocket-sized model, the G42 introduced a slimmer, single-stack frame that still retains Glock’s familiar Safe Action striker-fired system. The locked-breech action reduces felt recoil compared with the blow-back designs found in earlier .380 pistols.
This pistol was produced in the United States to bypass ATF import point restrictions on small-frame .380s. The slide carries the pentagon proof/acceptance mark, and the AAX serial prefix places it within the first year of production.
The 3.25-inch steel barrel uses Glock’s hammer-forged polygonal rifling for efficient gas seal and extended barrel life. A reversible magazine release accommodates left- or right-handed shooters, while fixed polymer sights feature a white-dot front blade and white “U”-outline rear notch for quick target acquisition.
An after-market wrap-around granular grip texture overlay improves purchase without appreciably increasing grip circumference, making this micro-compact even more controllable during rapid fire.
