Product Description

Stevens Model 22-410 Tenite Stock Combination Gun, .22 LR /.410, 24" Barrel, WWII Era Production

This Stevens Model 22-410 combines a .22 LR rifle barrel with a 3-inch chambered .410 shotgun barrel in a single, break-open platform. Produced during the WWII era and fitted with early Tenite synthetic furniture, it represents one of the first commercial uses of plastic stocks in American firearms. A “PATENT PENDING” receiver marking, integrated hammer-mounted selector, and lack of a serial number (typical of pre-1968 manufacture) further place this gun within a distinctive historical window that interests shooters and collectors alike.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Light handling marks and a few shallow surface scratches are present on the brown marbled Tenite stock and blued metal surfaces, none of which affect operation.

    What’s Included

    • Stevens Model 22-410 Tenite Stock Combination Gun (.22 LR /.410)

The Tenite pistol-grip stock and matching handguard were among the earliest mass-produced synthetic stocks, offering weather resistance and reduced weight compared to wood. The brown marbled pattern and pressed checkering give the gun a distinct period look that remains intact.

An exposed hammer carries the selector lever that lets the shooter switch between the rifle and shotgun barrels with a quick thumb movement. This design keeps the controls simple and intuitive while maintaining a single-trigger layout.

The 24-inch carbon-steel barrels wear their original blued finish and are topped with a brass bead front sight and an adjustable rear elevator sight with a folding leaf, giving clear, rugged sighting options for both rimfire and shotshell use.

Approximately 15,000 of these Model 22-410s were procured by the U.S. Army Air Corps as survival arms for air crews, underscoring the model’s practical versatility and historical significance. Its role as the direct predecessor to the later Savage Model 24 adds further collector appeal.
