Built on a reinforced 1.5 mm stamped steel receiver with a bulged trunnion, this NDS-8 platform captures the strength of the original RPK design while meeting U.S. import regulations. Cyrillic trunnion and top-cover stampings “АВ 26 0105” and “АВ0106” add authentic military character.
The heavy, chrome-lined, hammer-forged barrel features reinforcing ribs for sustained fire durability and a 22 mm threaded muzzle for standard AK-74/RPK-74 devices. An integral folding bipod is pinned to the barrel, providing immediate field support without additional accessories.
Iron sights include the AK-74 windage-adjustable front post and an RPK-74 tangent rear leaf graduated to 1000 meters, preserving proper sight geometry for the 5.45×39 cartridge.
Furniture consists of a fixed club-foot wood stock and matching wooden RPK handguard with palm swell, finished in clear lacquer. A Hogue-style rubber pistol grip is installed for improved control, while the original Bakelite grip is included for purists.
The long-stroke gas-piston action feeds from standard 45-round box magazines, giving the rifle 45 + 1 capacity in a semi-automatic civilian format that stays true to its squad automatic lineage.
