Remington Model 721 .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle | 1950 Production, Custom Tiger-Stripe Monte Carlo Stock

This Model 721 represents one of approximately 173,000 rifles produced between 1948 and 1962, making it an early example of the design that later evolved into the famous Model 700. Its serial number 146854 places manufacture in 1950, only two years into production.
The custom walnut stock is the standout feature. Rich tiger-stripe figure runs the length of the Monte Carlo comb, while hand-cut point-pattern checkering offers a secure grip at the pistol grip and forend. A contrasting forend tip with dual spacers and a ventilated aftermarket recoil pad complete the bespoke look without altering factory geometry.
Mechanically, the rifle retains its original 24-inch blued barrel and 4-round internal box magazine. The robust three-lug bolt locks into the receiver ring, barrel shank, and bolt body for strength—a hallmark of the Model 721 design.
Sighting equipment includes a ramped bead front sight and a period-correct Marble’s rear barrel sight. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped, giving the new owner flexibility to add scope bases if desired.
With its clean bore, sharp rifling, and tasteful custom stock, this Remington Model 721 offers a blend of collectible originality and practical field performance.
