The 835 Ulti-Mag was the first pump shotgun engineered to safely fire 3 ½-inch 12-gauge shells, giving waterfowl hunters magnum payloads without moving up to a 10-gauge platform.
Its 28-inch carbon-steel barrel is over-bored to .835 inch—nearly 10-gauge diameter—to tighten steel-shot patterns and reduce pellet deformation. A vent rib and red fiber-optic bead guide fast target acquisition in low light.
Mossberg’s proprietary Accu-Mag choke system pairs with the over-bored barrel for versatile pattern control. This gun ships with Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Extra Full tubes, covering everything from decoy spreads to long-range pass shooting.
The aluminum-alloy receiver and synthetic stock are finished in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades camouflage for full-coverage concealment. Dual extractors, twin action bars, and an ambidextrous tang safety contribute to reliable cycling and intuitive handling.
Drilled and tapped receiver holes allow easy installation of an optics base, while the 14-inch length of pull, soft recoil pad, and sling swivel studs round out a field-ready package.
