Stevens Model 5100 Springfield 16 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun, 28" Selected Forged Steel Barrels, IC/IM Chokes
Built between 1931 and 1948, this Stevens Model 5100 Springfield represents the transition from the earlier Springfield 5000 to the later Stevens 311. It pairs 28-inch Selected Forged Steel barrels with fixed Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified chokes, giving it the versatility hunters expect from a classic American double. A solid matted rib with dual brass beads aids quick target acquisition, while the break-action design, double triggers, and manual tang safety keep operation familiar and reliable.

What’s Included
- Stevens Model 5100 Springfield 16 Gauge side-by-side shotgun with aftermarket ventilated rubber recoil pad installed
This Model 5100 carries the “Selected Forged Steel” barrel marking, underscoring the strength of its 28-inch tubes. The fixed Improved Cylinder (right) and Improved Modified (left) chokes make it well-suited for upland birds and small game within typical 16-gauge ranges.
A solid matted rib running the full length of the barrels helps reduce glare, while a dual-bead setup—front brass bead and mid-rib bead—offers fast, instinctive alignment.
The walnut pistol-grip stock and matching splinter fore-end feature factory checkering that provides secure purchase without excess bulk. The aftermarket ventilated pad softens recoil and brings length of pull to 14 inches, adapting the gun for modern shooting comfort.
Pre-1968 manufacture means the gun bears no serial number, a normal trait for firearms of its era. Proof marks reading “PROOF TESTED 16 GAUGE – 2 ¾ INCH CHAMBER –” confirm chambering for standard 2 ¾-inch 16-gauge loads.
