The Gen4 upgrade begins with Glock’s dual recoil spring assembly, which moderates felt recoil and extends component life in the stout .45 ACP chambering. Coupled with the octagonal polygonal-rifled gas-nitrided barrel, the design promotes durability, easy maintenance, and consistent accuracy.
Custom steel night sights replace the factory polymer setup. A high-visibility yellow-ring tritium front blade and two rear tritium lamps offer a clear, intuitive sight picture in bright light or total darkness.
The large-frame polymer receiver features Glock’s rough textured frame (RTF) with finger grooves, plus a Modular Back Strap system so the grip can be tailored to various hand sizes. An integral accessory rail supports lights or lasers, and the enlarged reversible magazine catch accommodates right- or left-handed shooters.
Finished in Glock’s matte black gas-nitride treatment, the slide resists corrosion and wear. The absence of an MOS optic cut identifies this as the standard Gen4 configuration, and the VLM serial prefix places production in the final years of the Gen4 line.
