Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun – 26" Barrel, Cutts Adjustable Choke, Factory Engraved (1953)
This 1953 Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight pairs the shotgun’s famous bottom-eject action with factory roll-engraved game scenes and a period Cutts adjustable choke. Forged from steel and finished in deep blue, it retains the sleek lines John Browning envisioned while offering on-the-fly choke selection. High-figure, hand-checkered walnut completes a classic field-grade package that remains light, smooth, and ready for the range.

The Model 37’s bottom-eject design channels fired hulls straight downward, keeping the receiver sides closed to dirt and weather and making the gun equally friendly to right- and left-handed shooters.
This Featherlight was produced in 1953, as confirmed by serial number 529216-4. The period-correct Cutts adjustable choke system lets the shooter dial in constriction without swapping tubes, adding versatility for upland, waterfowl, or clay targets.
A forged and machined steel receiver wears Ithaca’s factory roll-engraved flying waterfowl motif. The deep blued finish pairs with crisp engraving that still shows sharp detail.
The 26-inch steel barrel is chambered for 2 3/4" shells and is ported at the Cutts diffuser to help tame recoil and keep the muzzle on target. A single brass bead provides a simple, durable sight picture.
The shotgun’s figured walnut stock features a pistol-grip profile, sharp hand-cut checkering, and a 14" length of pull. Matching walnut forend completes the classic look while maintaining the Featherlight’s approximate 6.7-pound weight for easy carry.
