This I.O. Inc. Sporter is a 100% American-made AKM derivative built in Palm Bay, Florida after the company’s 2013 reboot. It follows original Polish AKM blueprints while adding modern features such as a nitrided, threaded barrel and an aluminum quad-rail handguard. The result is a robust, parts-compatible rifle that blends military-pattern reliability with accessory-ready ergonomics.

The 16.25" nitrided steel barrel offers corrosion resistance and extended service life, and its 24 mm AK threads accept a wide range of muzzle devices. An installed multi-prong flash hider reduces visible flash without adding significant length.
The rifle’s 1 mm heat-treated stamped receiver is parkerized for uniform protection and matches the parkerized finish on the other steel components. A fixed black polymer stock with integral sling loop provides a 13.25" length of pull, while the matching pistol grip adds finger grooves for a secure hold.
A two-piece aluminum quad-rail handguard gives four full-length rails for lights, optics, or vertical grips. The extended magazine-release lever speeds reloads, and the safety lever includes a bolt-hold-open notch for quick status checks.
Standard AK iron sights—protective-ear front post and 100–1,000 m tangent rear—deliver familiar sight pictures. The rifle omits the traditional left-side optics rail, keeping the receiver smooth for sling and carry comfort.
