What’s Included
- Winchester Model 94 John Wayne Commemorative Large-Loop Carbine
Limited to a single-year production run, this rifle carries the “JW” serial prefix and features factory scroll and scene engraving. The left receiver panel depicts a stagecoach chase, while the right shows a cattle drive with John Wayne on horseback. A border listing 24 film titles frames both scenes, and a facsimile John Wayne signature accents the upper tang.
The large-loop lever mirrors the rifles Wayne favored on screen, offering ample clearance for gloved hands and contributing to the carbine’s distinctive profile. The straight-grip walnut stock and matching fore-end display crisp cut checkering and a satin finish, complemented by an inset bronze medallion bearing Wayne’s likeness.
A blued 18.5-inch steel barrel pairs with a ramped front blade and semi-buckhorn, elevation-adjustable rear sight for a traditional sight picture. Inside, the 1:16 RH twist barrel delivers five-round tubular-magazine capacity plus one in the chamber. The external hammer with half-cock notch serves as the primary safety, reflecting the original Model 94 design.
Winchester donated a portion of the original sales to the John Wayne Cancer Clinic at UCLA, adding another layer of historical interest for collectors. As the only factory Model 94 produced in .32-40 WCF after 1938, this commemorative remains a standout piece for Winchester enthusiasts and John Wayne admirers alike.
