This XD-M is built around a 4.5-inch, match-grade barrel with a 1:16 right-hand twist, treated inside and out with Melonite for long-term corrosion resistance. The forged carbon-steel slide carries aggressive front and rear serrations for confident manipulation, while the integral striker-status and loaded-chamber indicators provide at-a-glance status checks.
A polymer frame keeps overall weight manageable and houses Springfield’s interchangeable backstrap system, allowing the shooter to tailor grip circumference. The full-size grip accommodates a 13-round stainless steel magazine without sacrificing ergonomics.
Safety is layered: a grip safety, trigger safety with inner lever, and both loaded-chamber and striker-status indicators work together to prevent unintended discharge while keeping the pistol ready. Trijicon three-dot tritium sights deliver a clear sight picture day or night, rounding out a feature set aimed at service, carry, or range use.
