The USP 9 SD variant ships from the factory with a 4.8-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel that is threaded 13.5×1 mm LH and fitted with an O-ring for tight lock-up and improved accuracy. Polygonal rifling supports long service life and excellent gas seal, an advantage when running suppressed.
This example is Variant 1, featuring a DA/SA trigger with a left-side manual safety/decocker, plus HK’s ambidextrous paddle magazine release for intuitive operation from either hand. The exposed, bobbed hammer further supports snag-free carry and double-action capability.
A Trijicon tritium suppressor-height front sight has been professionally installed, providing a clear, day-night aiming point above most suppressor bodies. The tall plain rear notch keeps the sight picture uncluttered.
The proprietary HK rail wears an included steel Picatinny adapter, allowing the use of common weapon lights or lasers without sacrificing the pistol’s original configuration. The glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame, captive dual-spring recoil system, and Hostile Environment nitrided slide finish collectively deliver the durability for which the USP line is known.
