The Platypus 17’s double-stack, one-piece aluminum grip-frame delivers 17+1 capacity without compromising the straight-back 1911 trigger pull. Accepting readily available Glock magazines also simplifies sourcing spares and high-capacity options.
Its match-grade 5 inch barrel is cut from 416R stainless, nitride-finished for durability, and threaded 1/2x28 to accept common 9 mm suppressors or compensators. This makes the pistol immediately adaptable to a wide range of muzzle devices.
The RMR-footprint optic cut lets users mount a red-dot sight while retaining co-witness capability with the green fiber-optic front and serrated rear irons. Lightening windows and aggressive front and rear serrations add both weight savings and positive slide manipulation.
A two-tone Cerakote finish (bronze slide over OD-green frame) offers corrosion resistance and a distinctive aesthetic, while the integral Picatinny rail supports weapon-mounted lights or lasers.
