The MR556A1 is the commercial descendant of HK’s renowned HK416, retaining the same short-stroke gas piston system that keeps fouling out of the receiver and enhances reliability under hard use.
Its 16.5-inch cold-hammer-forged CMV barrel is produced on German military machinery, features a nitride treatment for corrosion resistance, and is threaded 1/2x28 to accept the included SureFire Warcomp or other muzzle devices.
A Lancer carbon-fiber handguard trims weight while adding strength and expansive M-LOK slots for accessories. Combined with the continuous top Picatinny rail, the rifle offers flexible mounting options without excess bulk.
The rifle is further customized for ergonomic control: a Magpul MOE six-position collapsible stock tailors length of pull, a Hogue rubber grip improves purchase, and a Geissele ambidextrous charging handle provides smooth manipulation from either side.
Proprietary HK buffer components are tuned for the piston impulse, and the forged 7075-T6 receivers wear a durable black anodized finish. Made in Germany and the USA, this MR556A1 delivers HK’s signature build quality with thoughtful, weight-saving upgrades.
