FN SCAR 17S 7.62 NATO Semi-Auto Rifle – FDE, 16.25" Barrel, Early-Generation with Reciprocating Charging Handle
This Belgian-made FN SCAR 17S is an early-generation HC-prefix rifle that retains the original reciprocating charging handle and flat dark earth finish. Chambered in 7.62x51 NATO, it features a cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined 16.25-inch barrel and a monolithic aluminum upper with full-length Picatinny rail. Excellent overall condition, ambidextrous controls, and a folding, telescoping stock round out a package prized by shooters and collectors alike.

The SCAR 17S uses a short-stroke gas piston system that keeps fouling out of the action and ensures reliable cycling with 7.62 NATO ammunition. A two-position gas regulator allows quick adjustment for suppressed or standard operation.
Its cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel is threaded 5/8-24 and capped with FN’s multi-port compensator/flash hider. The 1:12 right-hand twist stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights, while chrome lining extends barrel life.
The extruded monolithic upper provides a rigid foundation with a numbered 31-slot 12-o’clock rail and integral 3-, 6-, and 9-o’clock accessory rails. Factory folding front and fully adjustable rear sights mount directly to the rail for consistent zero retention.
A glass-fiber-reinforced polymer lower keeps weight down and houses ambidextrous safety and magazine release controls. The left-side reciprocating charging handle doubles as a forward assist and can be swapped to the right side with an aftermarket kit if desired.
The side-folding, six-position stock includes an adjustable cheekpiece and reduces overall length to approximately 28 inches when folded, enhancing portability and storage options.
