Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 12 Ga Pump Shotgun – 26" Plain Barrel, Poly-Choke, 1954 Production
This 1954 Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight pairs the design’s hallmark bottom-eject action with a factory roll-engraved receiver and a user-tunable Poly-Choke. The forged one-piece steel receiver, ambidextrous ejection, and slam-fire trigger highlight why early-1950s examples remain sought after. What’s Included
- Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 12 Gauge shotgun with 26" plain barrel and installed Poly-Choke
The Model 37’s bottom-eject/feed system drops spent hulls straight down, keeping the sight line clear and making the gun naturally friendly for both right- and left-handed shooters.
This example retains its original 26-inch plain steel barrel but gains versatility from a Poly-Choke variable muzzle device, allowing on-the-fly selection of constriction without swapping tubes.
The forged steel receiver wears factory roll engraving: a pointing dog and flushing birds on the right, and ducks over a marsh on the left. Blue finish coverage remains solid, giving sharp contrast to the artwork.
Checkered walnut furniture includes a pistol-grip stock with 14-inch length of pull and a ribbed corn-cob fore-end, offering a comfortable, secure hold during rapid pump cycles. The hard black buttplate caps the classic look.
Pre-1975 production means this Model 37 retains its slam-fire capable trigger, allowing continuous fire with the trigger held while the action is pumped—an original feature valued by many enthusiasts.
