The short-stroke gas piston system keeps fouling out of the receiver and reduces heat transfer, enhancing reliability during extended strings of fire. This design was developed for demanding agencies and carries a DEA-approved pedigree.
The 16" cold-hammer-forged barrel is treated with LWRC’s NiCorr process for exceptional corrosion resistance and long service life. The 5/8-24 threading supports common muzzle devices or suppressors, and the 1:10 RH twist is optimized for the full range of 6.8 SPC bullet weights.
A mid-length, free-float quad-rail handguard offers ample mounting real estate and keeps accessories clear of barrel heat. The removable, numbered top-rail section preserves optic zero when servicing the piston system.
The forged 7075-T6 receiver set wears a Type III hard-coat anodized finish, matched with an ambidextrous safety selector for left- or right-handed use. A six-position collapsible polymer stock and Magpul MOE pistol grip provide familiar AR ergonomics.
Produced in limited numbers before LWRC transitioned to the IC and SIX8 lines, this M6A2 represents a refined balance of durability, modularity, and caliber-specific performance for shooters who appreciate the 6.8 SPC round.
