Glock engineered the G42 to meet BATFE import requirements by producing it domestically, allowing American shooters access to the company’s first single-stack pistol. At just 3.25 inches, the steel barrel is cold-hammer-forged and features polygonal rifling for long service life and consistent velocity.
The matte black nDLC slide wears aggressive rear serrations for confident manipulation, while fixed polymer sights—white-dot front and white-outline rear—provide a clear sight picture straight from the box.
Internally, the Safe Action system integrates three passive safeties for secure carry without the need for manual levers. The striker-fired mechanism breaks at approximately 5.5 pounds, mirroring the feel of larger Glock models for a consistent trigger press.
The slim polymer frame is stippled for a secure grasp and retains the familiar Glock grip angle. A standard magazine release and minimalist controls keep the profile trim, aiding concealment without sacrificing ease of use.
