Early BACR rifles are notable for their transitional markings and production at Bushmaster’s Windham, Maine facility before manufacturing moved and the model was discontinued in 2020. Collectors appreciate these rifles for their limited numbers and direct lineage to the original Magpul Masada prototype.
The heart of the rifle is its 16.5-inch cold-hammer-forged chrome-moly barrel with a 1:9 twist and an AAC 51T multi-prong flash suppressor quick-mount. The barrel is threaded and can be swapped out quickly thanks to the ACR’s tool-less quick-change system.
A two-position adjustable gas piston keeps the action clean while offering reliability across suppressed or unsuppressed fire. The reversible, non-reciprocating forward charging handle and ambidextrous magazine release and safety lever make the rifle left- or right-hand friendly.
The polymer MOE-style handguard and glass-reinforced nylon lower keep weight down, while a 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver provides durability. Flip-up polymer sights ride on a full-length top rail, giving immediate sighting options and space for additional optics or accessories.
