Product Description

    Marlin Golden 39A .22 LR Lever-Action Rifle, 24" Micro-Groove Barrel, 1967 Manufacture

Built in 1967, this Marlin Golden 39A pairs classic lines with the brand’s well-known Micro-Groove rifling and a forged takedown receiver. The 24-inch barrel, gold-colored trigger, and full-length 15-round magazine highlight the long-running design that helped set the standard for rimfire lever guns. An installed hammer extension and factory drilling and tapping for optics add practical usability without altering the rifle’s vintage character.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Rifling Condition: Good - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Signs of wear and handling are present, including scattered scratches, blemishes, and areas of finish loss, none of which affect function.

    What’s Included

    • Marlin Golden 39A .22 LR rifle
    • After-market hammer extension (installed)

The Golden 39A is respected for its forged steel receiver and takedown design. A simple coin-slot screw allows the rifle to separate into two halves, making cleaning and transport straightforward without sacrificing rigidity when assembled.

Marlin’s Micro-Groove barrel, introduced in 1953, uses many shallow grooves to reduce fouling and maintain accuracy with high-volume shooting. This example features a 24-inch tube cut with a 1:16 right-hand twist, ideal for standard and high-velocity .22 LR loads.

The pre-1983 production means there is no cross-bolt safety, preserving the original half-cock hammer safety system. A gold-colored trigger, unique to the Golden series, adds a visual cue that collectors recognize.

Walnut furniture presents classic appeal with a pistol-grip stock, fluted comb, and factory sling-swivel studs. A ramp front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight come standard, while the drilled-and-tapped receiver and included hammer extension simplify adding an optic if desired.
