SIG Sauer P226 40th Anniversary Limited Edition 9mm Full-Size Pistol
This 40th Anniversary P226 is a factory-produced, limited-run recreation of the original mid-1980s service pistol. Only about 2,000 of these non-rail models were made, each built in the USA to celebrate four decades of P226 production. It combines the classic double-action/single-action trigger system with modern manufacturing and an 18-round capacity, making it a collectible yet fully capable sidearm.

This pistol is designated model E26-9-40YR and carries a 47G serial prefix unique to the anniversary run. The matte-black Nitron slide and hard-anodized aluminum frame mirror the original finish while improving corrosion resistance.
The 4.4-inch stainless-steel barrel is treated for durability and accuracy. Inside, the short-recoil locked-breech system remains unchanged, providing reliable cycling with standard or +P 9 mm loads.
Fixed three-dot sights offer a familiar sight picture, and standard magazine release, slide stop, and decocker controls keep operation intuitive for P-series users. Plastic checkered grip panels replicate the period-correct profile and aid consistent purchase.
With five extended 18-round magazines plus two standard 15-round magazines, this package supplies ample capacity for range sessions while preserving the pistol’s original lines. Factory anniversary markings and low production numbers enhance its appeal to collectors who want a shooter-grade example.
