Remington Model 1100 LT-20 Special 20 Gauge Semi-Auto Shotgun, 21" Vent Rib Barrel, Rare 1980s Production
This LT-20 Special is a lightweight, scaled-receiver variant of Remington’s renowned Model 1100. Produced for only a short run in the early 1980s, the pistol-grip LT-20 Special offers a 21" vent-rib barrel, 2+1 capacity, and polished gloss blue finish—all at about 6.5 lb. Its limited production, paired with the signature Model 1100 reliability, makes this example a standout for collectors seeking a scarce 20-gauge semi-auto.

What’s Included
- Remington Model 1100 LT-20 Special 20 Gauge semi-automatic shotgun
The LT-20 receiver is purpose-built for 20 gauge, resulting in a compact profile and reduced weight compared to standard 1100 frames. Its shortened magazine tube keeps overall capacity to 2+1, balancing the gun perfectly for upland carry.
Remington paired the receiver with a 21" carbon-steel barrel featuring a vent rib and fixed Improved Cylinder choke. Chambered for 2 3/4" shells, it offers quick handling and a forgiving pattern ideal for close-to-mid-range game.
All metal surfaces wear a polished gloss blue finish that complements the gloss American walnut stock. The pistol-grip buttstock shows cut diamond checkering and terminates in the original black hard-rubber butt-plate, while the forend matches in figure and finish.
Sighting is straightforward—a single silver front bead tops the rib—while a cross-bolt safety provides familiar operation. REP oval proofs and a triangle inspection stamp remain crisp on the receiver and barrel, underscoring its U.S. manufacture.
Because the pistol-grip LT-20 Special preceded the later straight-grip Special Field, surviving examples are comparatively scarce. For Model 1100 enthusiasts, this shotgun represents a desirable niche in the platform’s long production history.
