What’s Included
- Western Field Model M72 .30-30 rifle
- Installed scope mount base
Produced in the United States during the mid-1970s, the Model M72 offers a 20-inch carbon-steel barrel that keeps the rifle quick to shoulder while delivering dependable .30-30 ballistics. The side-eject design simplifies top-mount optic installation and keeps spent cases clear of the shooter’s line of sight.
The lever incorporates the trigger—an uncommon feature that gives this rifle its distinctive look and feel. A hammer intercept notch provides an added layer of safety without altering the classic manual of arms familiar to lever-gun users.
The oil-finished walnut stock features a pistol grip, white-line spacer, and recoil pad, giving the rifle a period-correct appearance and comfortable 13.75-inch length of pull. A rear sling swivel stud is factory-installed for easy carry in the field.
Sight options include a ramped brass-bead front and an adjustable rear barrel sight base, while the pre-mounted scope base offers a straightforward path to optics should the next owner choose.
With its limited production run, durable blued-steel construction, and connection to both Western Field and Mossberg histories, this Model M72 stands out as a practical shooter and a collectible lever-action.
