Product Description

Smith & Wesson Model 19-2 Combat Magnum .357 Mag, 2.5-Inch, Blued, 6-Shot Revolver

This early 1960s Model 19-2 delivers the classic Combat Magnum formula in the shortest factory K-frame .357 barrel offered at the time. Built on carbon steel and finished in the high-polish blue that marked Smith & Wesson craftsmanship of the era, it combines a 2.5-inch pinned barrel, recessed chambers, and walnut Magna stocks in a package originally developed with legendary Border Patrolman Bill Jordan. Collectors and shooters alike prize these early pinned-and-recessed examples for their balance, concealability, and historical importance.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good – clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Rifling Condition: Good – intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The revolver remains solid, with a few scattered blemishes in the blue finish. The bore is bright and shiny, reflecting consistent care.

    What’s Included

    • Smith & Wesson Model 19-2 Combat Magnum revolver
    • Factory walnut Magna stocks (round-butt)

The 19-2 engineering change retained all the hallmarks that made the Combat Magnum famous: a smooth double-action/single-action trigger, exposed hammer for precise single-action work, and fully adjustable micrometer-click rear sight paired with a serrated ramp front sight.

This example’s 2.5-inch pinned barrel offers quick pointability and reduced drag for concealed carry, while the recessed cylinder chambers fully surround cartridge rims—features no longer found on later production guns.

Serial number prefix “K68” dates manufacture to 1964–1965, placing it squarely in the period many enthusiasts regard as the peak of Smith & Wesson fit and finish. The high-polish blue is deep and even, accenting the sharp edges and clean lines of the K-frame.

Internally, the carbon-steel frame and cylinder team with S&W’s robust lockwork to handle full-power .357 Magnum loads, yet the revolver’s compact size and round-butt grip keep it comfortable for everyday carry.
