Product Description

Ruger No. 1-B "Made in the 200th Year of American Liberty" .243 Win. Single-Shot Rifle, 26" Barrel

Built for the 1976 Bicentennial celebration, this limited-edition Ruger No. 1-B combines classic Farquharson-inspired engineering with a special "Made in the 200th Year of American Liberty" roll-mark. Chambered in the versatile .243 Winchester and fitted with a 26" barrel, it offers single-shot precision, Ruger’s renowned falling-block action, and integral scope mounting cuts — all in a handsome walnut stock with pronounced fiddle-back figure.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Scratches and cosmetic blemishes are visible on the metal and wood, and there are isolated spots of light rust and pitting on exterior surfaces. The bore remains clean and shiny.

    What’s Included

    • Ruger proprietary scope rings

This No. 1-B falls within the 130-serial range produced in 1976, making it part of Ruger’s collectible American Liberty series. The commemorative roll-mark appears prominently on the barrel, instantly identifying it as a Bicentennial release.

The single-shot falling-block action is robust and smooth, designed to handle modern .243 Win. loads with ease. An adjustable extractor/ejector system simplifies case removal, while the tang safety provides intuitive operation for both right- and left-handed shooters.

Its 26" alloy-steel barrel carries a factory-machined quarter rib that accepts the included Ruger scope rings, streamlining optics installation without additional bases. Deep blued metalwork contrasts with the crisp knurling on the quarter rib and breech block.

The walnut stock features a pistol-grip profile, semi-beavertail fore-end, and factory recoil pad. Distinctive fiddle-back figure gives the stock added visual appeal, underscoring the rifle’s collectible status.
