Produced in the final year of the single-digit “S” serial format, this Sweet Sixteen reflects Browning’s high-quality Belgian manufacture before the 1968 import changes. The lightweight receiver and drilled barrel ring, hallmarks of the Sweet Sixteen series, reduce overall weight to about 6.75 lb without sacrificing strength.
The 28-inch vent-rib barrel is stamped “*” for full choke, giving dense patterns ideal for upland game and clay targets. Chambered for 2 ¾-inch 16-gauge shells, the long-recoil action cycles smoothly, aided by the polished steel internals.
Factory scroll engraving frames the “Sweet Sixteen” script on the blued receiver, while the gold-plated trigger adds a distinctive accent. A silver front bead offers quick sight alignment along the textured rib.
Gloss-finished walnut stocks feature crisp checkering and a comfortable semi-pistol grip. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, providing a balanced fit for most shooters.
