This rifle retains its factory matte grey/green Parkerized finish on the carbon-steel receiver, barrel, and operating components, matching the period’s U.S. military specification. The stamp on the receiver heel—"U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY"—is crisp and legible.
The oil-finished walnut furniture shows the correct no-groove profile adopted after World War II. Both upper and lower handguards align tightly with the 24" barrel, and the coarse-checkered butt-plate includes the traditional trapdoor for cleaning gear storage.
Mechanically, the rifle uses the proven gas-operated, long-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt, cycling eight rounds of .30-06 from its en-bloc clip. The relief-cut operating rod reduces stress during cycling—one of the last production updates before the M1 left U.S. service.
