Released in 2007, the M&P45 was Smith & Wesson’s first polymer-framed .45 ACP service pistol. This example retains the distinctive Gen 1 wave-pattern cocking serrations that give positive purchase from either direction.
A 4.5-inch stainless barrel and slide are treated with Melonite for deep surface hardening and a uniform matte black finish that resists corrosion and wear. An internal stainless-steel chassis seated within the polymer frame provides rigidity under recoil while keeping overall weight manageable.
The pistol ships with three different palmswell backstraps (Medium installed, Small and Large included) so the grip can be tailored to most hand sizes—especially useful on a double-stack .45. Steel dovetail sights feature a white-dot front and low-profile two-dot rear in the Novak style for a clear sight picture.
Safety is handled internally through a trigger safety blade, striker block, sear de-activation lever, and magazine disconnect. With its ambidextrous slide stop, reversible magazine release, and integral accessory rail, this M&P45 offers modern ergonomics in a California-compliant package that still holds 10+1 rounds of .45 ACP.
