This Flat Dark Earth model features the original reciprocating charging-handle system, a cold-hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel, and fully ambidextrous controls. Made in Columbia, South Carolina, it offers the quick-change barrel interface and monolithic upper that make the SCAR platform stand out.

The 16.25-inch barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome lined, free floating, and threaded 1/2-28 TPI for standard muzzle devices. A 1:7 RH twist rate stabilizes a wide range of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington loads.
The hard-anodized aluminum monolithic upper carries a continuous, numbered 12-o’clock Picatinny rail (slots 1-37) with additional rails at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock for lights, lasers, and accessories. The quick-change barrel interface supports future caliber or length swaps without disturbing the optics zero.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector and magazine release. The reciprocating charging handle can be swapped to either side to match shooter preference. The action runs on a short-stroke gas piston system known for reliability and reduced fouling.
The side-folding, telescoping polymer stock features an adjustable cheek riser and rubber butt-pad, trimming the rifle to 27.5 inches when folded. A folding front sight is installed; no rear sight is provided.
Finished in Flat Dark Earth across the receiver, stock, grip, and handguard, this SCAR 16S delivers signature FN aesthetics along with proven performance.
