This SPS (Special Purpose) variant was engineered for waterfowl duty. The factory camouflage hydro-dip covers the receiver, barrel, stock, and fore-end, minimizing glare while adding a layer of protection to the steel and synthetic surfaces.
The 26-inch barrel features a vent rib for steady sight alignment and is threaded for chokes; an Improved Modified choke tube is currently installed, giving a versatile pattern for ducks and geese. A single brass bead front sight keeps the aiming system simple and snag-free.
The 3-inch magnum chamber handles modern steel or lead loads with ease. Combined with the rugged twin-action bars of the 870 platform, it delivers smooth, reliable cycling shot after shot.
Remington outfitted this model with a Monte Carlo synthetic stock featuring molded chequering, integral sling studs, and a soft recoil pad. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches—comfortable for most shooters wearing cold-weather layers.
Proofed in-house at Remington’s Ilion, New York facility, this shotgun bears both the REP oval and Ilion triangle marks, confirming factory testing prior to shipment.
