Auto-Ordnance Thompson M1 TM1 .45 ACP Semi-Auto Rifle, 16.5" Barrel, Walnut Furniture
This Auto-Ordnance TM1 is a modern, semi-automatic reproduction of the WWII-era Thompson M1. Built in Worcester, Massachusetts, it uses heavy milled carbon-steel construction, a straight-blowback action, and authentic walnut furniture to capture the original look and feel while meeting today’s legal requirements with a 16.5" barrel. A factory-installed Picatinny rail segment on the receiver adds the option for optics without altering the classic profile.

The TM1 retains the unmistakable Thompson silhouette with its fixed walnut stock, horizontal walnut forearm, and matte-blued steel receiver. The carbon-steel frame and receiver mirror the wartime M1 profile, offering durability and authentic heft.
Chambered in .45 ACP, the straight-blowback action cycles reliably and accepts standard WWII-pattern 20- and 30-round stick magazines, giving shooters ample magazine compatibility and capacity.
Despite its historical appearance, this model adds modern utility: a low-profile Picatinny rail segment comes factory-installed on the receiver top, allowing quick attachment of red-dot sights while keeping the original fixed blade front and battle notch rear sights in place.
A manual sliding safety lever provides straightforward, positive engagement, and the robust milled-steel internals are designed for long service life. The KL-prefix serial number identifies it as a post-2019 production example, benefitting from Auto-Ordnance’s latest manufacturing standards.
