Product Description

    H&R Model 1915 Small Frame 28 Gauge Single-Shot, 26" Barrel, Case-Hardened Receiver

This pre-WWII Harrington & Richardson Model 1915 Small Frame delivers the uncommon combination of a lightweight 4-pound receiver and a scarce 28-gauge chamber. Built on the petite small-frame action and finished with classic case hardening, it offers collectors a hard-to-find variant distinguished by its “A” serial prefix and factory “CHOKE”-marked barrel, measured at Modified constriction. The result is a trim, fast-handling single shot that reflects early-20th-century H&R design and craftsmanship.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

This shotgun shows visible scratches and blemishes on both metal and wood surfaces, and small areas of surface rust are present on the barrel exterior and around the receiver edges.

    What’s Included

    • Harrington & Richardson Model 1915 Small Frame single-shot shotgun

The 26-inch barrel is stamped simply “CHOKE” but gauges to a Modified constriction, pairing well with its chamber to handle 28-gauge loads. Its slim walnut fore-end and pistol-grip walnut stock keep weight to an easy-carrying four pounds, making it quick to mount and comfortable for extended field use.

An exposed rebounding hammer and break-action design offer straightforward operation and reliable ignition. The action shares several parts with the period H&R Handy-Gun smoothbore pistols, a detail that underscores the shotgun’s shared heritage and may appeal to H&R aficionados.

The receiver retains attractive case-hardened colors that contrast nicely with the blued barrel, providing both corrosion resistance and a period-correct appearance. A single brass bead up front offers a simple, durable sight picture in keeping with the shotgun’s minimalist design.

Produced in the United States before World War II, this Model 1915 represents a window into early H&R engineering, especially in its rare 28-gauge configuration. Its lightweight construction, robust break-action, and collectible chambering make it a standout piece for shooters and collectors alike.
