Norinco MAK-90 7.62x39 Semi-Automatic Rifle with Reshaped Thumbhole Stock, 16″ Barrel, and Ported Muzzle Brake
This Norinco MAK-90 stands out as a clean, Chinese-made AK-pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x39. It retains the robust long-stroke gas piston system while featuring a reshaped original thumbhole stock that delivers a 14″ length of pull and a more traditional feel. A factory 16″ chrome-lined barrel with an installed ported muzzle brake, plus a scope mount on the receiver, round out a package ready for range use or collection.

The MAK-90 platform is valued for its forged, machined receiver and chrome-lined barrel, both present here and in solid shape. The 16″ barrel balances handling and ballistic performance, and the added ported muzzle brake helps control recoil for faster follow-up shots.
The original Norinco thumbhole stock has been reshaped, removing excess material while preserving structural integrity. The result is a slimmer profile that points naturally and maintains a 14″ length of pull suited to most shooters.
A scope mount is already installed on the left side of the receiver, simplifying the addition of optics without permanent modification. Paired with the included sling and magazine, the rifle arrives well-equipped for immediate use.
Norinco manufactured these rifles in China during the early 1990s, and importation has long ceased, making clean examples increasingly harder to find. This specimen’s combination of solid mechanical condition, upgraded ergonomics, and included accessories offers strong appeal to shooters and collectors alike.
