Thompson Center Contender Gen 1 Super 14 7-30 Waters Single-Shot Pistol w/ Burris 2-7x Scope
This late-run Generation 1 Contender pairs Thompson Center’s classic break-action frame with a factory Super 14 heavy bull barrel chambered in 7-30 Waters. Built in 2000, it shows the final evolution of the original Contender design before the G2 overhaul and features factory scroll engraving with the distinctive T/C cougar-head logo. A Burris 2-7x handgun scope is already mounted, giving the pistol a ready-to-shoot configuration that highlights its flat-shooting cartridge and precision-oriented barrel.

What’s Included
- Thompson Center Contender Gen 1 Super 14 single-shot pistol
- Burris 2-7x handgun scope with Weaver-style rings and base (installed)
The 14-inch carbon-steel bull barrel provides excellent stability and heat management, while its 7-30 Waters chambering offers a flatter trajectory than the traditional .30-30 Winchester parent case. The barrel is drilled, tapped, and fitted with a Weaver-style base to secure the included Burris optic.
Thompson Center’s break-action, single-action-only design is renowned for strength and simplicity. The exposed hammer allows straightforward cocking, and the quick-change barrel system lets owners swap calibers and barrel lengths in minutes, adding long-term versatility.
High-gloss walnut target grips with finger grooves and a palm swell give a comfortable, repeatable hold for precise shooting from the bench or field rest. A matching walnut fore-end balances the heavy barrel and completes the classic Contender look.
The high-polish blued frame bears factory scroll engraving and the T/C cougar-head logo, showcasing the attention to detail typical of Thompson Center’s U.S. production. Collectors will appreciate that this pistol comes from the final production year of the original Contender series.
