Sig Sauer P226R Homeland Security Pistol .40 S&W – 1 of 1,000 Limited Edition, Upgraded Skeletonized Trigger, Night Sights
This P226R Homeland Security Pistol (HSP) is one of only 1,000 commemorative models produced in 2005–2006, verified by its “E26R-40-HSP” factory label and UU-prefix serial number. Built on Sig’s full-size .40 S&W platform, it features factory laser engravings, SIGLITE tritium night sights, and an aftermarket skeletonized alloy trigger that lightens pull weight while maintaining the proven DA/SA action. Complete with its original case, paperwork, and three 12-round magazines, this example offers both collectibility and practical performance.

The HSP series pairs a stainless steel slide in durable Nitron matte black with a hard-anodized aluminum-alloy frame, delivering the balance and recoil control the P226 line is known for. An integral M1913 rail allows easy mounting of lights or lasers.
Factory laser engravings distinguish this limited run: a U.S. flag on the slide top, “Homeland Security 1 of 1000” along the side, and a barcode graphic—details that set this model apart for collectors.
The aftermarket skeletonized curved alloy trigger offers a lighter, more responsive break while retaining Sig’s robust decocking lever and spurred external hammer. The DA/SA system provides a smooth double-action first shot followed by crisp single-action follow-ups.
Visibility in low light comes from factory-installed SIGLITE tritium night sights. Coupled with the 4.4-inch barrel and 12+1 capacity, the pistol remains fully serviceable for duty or defense despite its collectible status.
Documentation further supports provenance: the factory test envelope, correct part number, and matching serial range confirm this pistol’s place within the limited Homeland Security production run.
