Product Description

Ruger Model 99/44 Deerfield Carbine .44 Magnum Semi-Automatic Rifle - Early 2000 Production

Built in 2000, this Ruger Model 99/44 Deerfield Carbine is an early-production example of Ruger’s short-lived semi-automatic .44 Magnum line. The split stainless receiver, gas-operated rotating-bolt action, and integral Ruger scope mounts set it apart from earlier Ruger .44 carbines and make it notable for collectors and hunters who want a hard-hitting, compact rifle.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good – Shows light to moderate wear consistent with responsible use.
Bore Condition: Good – Clean and well-maintained with minor wear.
Rifling Condition: Good – Lands and grooves remain sharp and well-defined.
Specific Condition Notes: The stock and handguard show mild scuffs, small dings, and a few shallow gouges from field carry. The front sight has been replaced with a Patridge-style fiber-optic unit.

    What’s Included

    • Two 4-round Ruger rotary magazines
    • Ruger Deerfield Carbine instruction manual

The Deerfield’s stainless steel receiver is split into two halves that clamp around the carbon-steel barrel, giving the rifle rigidity while keeping weight manageable. Ruger’s proprietary scope-mounting cuts are machined directly into the receiver, allowing easy optic installation without additional bases.

The 18.5-inch blued barrel is chambered for full-power .44 Magnum, delivering revolver-grade energy in a handy carbine platform. A gas-operated rotating-bolt system tames recoil and cycles reliably, while the four-round rotary magazine sits flush for unobstructed handling.

A satin-gloss hardwood stock with semi-pistol-grip geometry provides traditional looks and solid shoulder feel. The alloy hand-guard/forend shroud protects the shooter’s support hand from barrel heat during extended firing sessions.

Produced from 2000 to 2006, the Model 99/44 Deerfield was the only mass-produced semi-auto .44 Magnum carbine of its era. Early serial prefix 630-011xx examples like this one are especially sought after by Ruger enthusiasts and anyone wanting a tough, compact big-bore woods rifle.
