The 336XLR stands out for its 24-inch stainless steel barrel capped with a ramp front sight base and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, giving the shooter a long sight radius for precise shots. Marlin’s Ballard-type six-groove rifling enhances accuracy with traditional .30-30 hunting loads.
Its satin stainless receiver, barrel, and magazine tube resist rust in wet or snowy conditions. The receiver is drilled and tapped, with scope base screws already in place for easy optic installation if desired.
The grey laminated hardwood stock features cut checkering, a black recoil pad, sling studs, and a 13.5-inch length of pull. Laminate construction adds stability against temperature and humidity swings, making this rifle a solid choice for all-season field use.
Safety is provided by a cross-bolt safety and half-cock hammer notch, while the external hammer and enlarged oval lever loop deliver classic lever-action handling. A six-round tubular magazine keeps the rifle slim and quick to top off.
Marked with the “REP” proof and an MR-prefix laser-etched serial number, this late Remington-era 336XLR represents one of the final stainless/laminate variants before the model’s discontinuation.
