Star Megastar .45 ACP DA/SA Semi-Auto Pistol – 12+1 Capacity, All-Steel, 4.6" Barrel
The Star Megastar is an all-steel, full-size .45 ACP pistol built in Spain during the early 1990s. Its double-stack magazine delivers 12+1 rounds of .45 ACP, a capacity rarely seen in pistols of this caliber and era. Robust construction, internal slide rails, and an ambidextrous safety/decocker make this model notable to both shooters and collectors, especially since production ended before Star closed its doors in 1997.

Built on a carbon-steel frame and slide finished in matte blue/black, the Megastar tips the scales at roughly 3.1 lb unloaded. The weight, combined with internal slide rails, delivers a solid feel and smooth slide travel.
Its double-action/single-action trigger provides a long, deliberate first pull followed by crisp single-action follow-up shots. A reversible magazine release accommodates right- or left-handed shooters, while the ambidextrous three-position lever functions as both manual safety and decocker.
The 4.6" steel barrel works with fixed 3-dot iron sights for a clear sight picture. Wrap-around textured polymer grips give full-hand contact and help manage recoil from the high-capacity .45 ACP platform.
Production of the Megastar was short-lived, ending when Star ceased operations in 1997. This limited run, combined with its high-capacity .45 design and robust Spanish engineering, makes surviving examples appealing to collectors seeking distinctive 1990s semi-autos.
