Built on a reinforced stamped-steel receiver, the C308 Sporter retains the durable roller-delayed blowback system that made the original G3 world-renowned for reliability. Century Arms mates surplus parts to a new PTR-made receiver and 4140 chrome-moly barrel, ensuring 922(r) compliance while preserving authentic handling.
The 18-inch barrel features a 1:10 RH twist, fluted chamber, and 5/8×24 RH threads capped with Century’s proprietary Chevron muzzle brake. This setup manages recoil effectively and accepts common .30-caliber muzzle devices.
A welded Picatinny rail spans the receiver top, providing a solid base for optics without sacrificing the rifle’s robust iron sights—a hooded front post and four-position rotating rear leaf engineered for quick range adjustments.
The fixed black polymer stock offers a 14.5-inch length of pull, while the ventilated polymer fore-end keeps weight down and allows airflow around the barrel during sustained fire. A push-button magazine release and two-position safety lever mirror the familiar G3 manual of arms.
