Marlin Model 336C .30-30 Lever-Action Carbine, 20" Barrel, 1974 Production
Built in 1974, this Marlin Model 336C combines classic 1970s craftsmanship with useful modern touches. The carbine-length .30-30 features Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifled barrel, a gold-plated trigger, and a forged steel receiver that is factory drilled and tapped for a scope base. Aftermarket black synthetic furniture is currently installed, and the original walnut stock set is included, giving the buyer two ready-to-use configurations.

What’s Included
- Aftermarket black synthetic buttstock & fore-end (installed)
- OEM walnut buttstock & fore-end set
This 336C is a pre-1984 example without the later cross-bolt safety, retaining the original half-cock hammer notch that many traditionalists prefer. The solid-top, side-eject receiver allows easy scope mounting while keeping spent cases clear of optics.
The 20-inch forged steel barrel uses Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling—24 narrow lands designed to enhance accuracy and reduce fouling with standard .30-30 hunting loads. A full-length tubular magazine holds six rounds, giving the carbine a 6+1 total capacity.
Sights are the factory hooded ramp front and adjustable semi-buckhorn rear, providing a clear sight picture for woods hunting. If a scope is desired, the drilled and tapped receiver lets the buyer add bases without gunsmithing.
Aftermarket matte-black synthetic furniture trims weight and resists weather, making the rifle a practical field companion. For those who prefer the traditional look, the original walnut stock and fore-end are included and can be swapped in minutes.
