Taurus Model 17-12 Silhouette .17 HMR Revolver – 12" Stainless, 7-Shot, Bushnell 2-6x Scope
Produced for only two years, the Taurus Model 17-12 Silhouette is a scarce, purpose-built revolver designed for handgun silhouette competition. Its 12-inch stainless barrel, seven-shot .17 HMR cylinder, and factory scope rail give it a unique blend of reach, capacity, and precision. This example comes outfitted with a mounted Bushnell 2-6×32 mm pistol scope, making it ready for target work right out of the box.

The 12-inch stainless barrel features a ventilated rib and mid-length underlug, adding rigidity and forward weight for steadier off-hand shots. Chambered in the flat-shooting .17 HMR, the revolver offers exceptional downrange accuracy and minimal recoil, well-suited for silhouette targets.
Taurus built the Model 17-12 on a matte-finished stainless frame with an exposed hammer and smooth double-action/single-action trigger system. A seven-round cylinder extends shooting sessions between reloads, a practical advantage in competition and field use alike.
Factory-machined Weaver/Picatinny rail sits atop the barrel, securing the included Bushnell 2-6x scope. Variable magnification from 2x to 6x, combined with the scope’s long eye relief, provides a clear sight picture while preserving natural shooting posture.
The black Taurus Ribber synthetic grip with finger grooves delivers a firm, recoil-absorbing hold. Proof marks include “MADE IN BRAZIL” and the Miami import line, confirming its origin and import status.
Limited production from 2003–2004 enhances this revolver’s collectibility; examples in this configuration are seldom seen on the secondary market.
