Rossi built the RP63 around an all-steel frame, cylinder, and barrel to handle full-power .357 Magnum loads while keeping the overall footprint trim. The six-shot cylinder is finished in matte black for visual contrast and enhanced corrosion resistance.
The 3-inch barrel strikes a practical balance, delivering full extraction travel for quick reloads and providing a longer sight radius than snub-nose revolvers without adding undue bulk. Six-groove rifling with a 1:16.5 RH twist stabilizes heavyweight .357 projectiles as well as lighter .38 Special rounds.
Fixed iron sights consist of a pinned, serrated ramp front and a gutter-style rear milled into the topstrap—rugged choices that stay zeroed under hard use. The exposed hammer supports both double-action and single-action fire, and the serrated trigger face promotes consistent control.
