Erfurt 1910 Karabiner 98 Sporterized Bolt-Action Rifle | 24" Barrel | 8mm Mauser
Built on an imperial-marked 1910 Erfurt large-ring Mauser 98 receiver, this Karabiner 98 has been thoughtfully sporterized for hunting while retaining its historic core. A walnut civilian stock, 24-inch carbon-steel sporting barrel, and turned-down bolt handle modernize the rifle, yet original features like the crowned “ERFURT 1910” receiver ring and roller-coaster Lange-Visier rear sight keep its military pedigree intact.

What’s Included
- Erfurt Karabiner 98 bolt-action rifle as described
This rifle began life at the Erfurt arsenal in 1910, confirmed by the crown-stamped receiver ring and matching imperial proofs on the barrel shank. The left receiver wall remains crisply marked “Kar. 98,” and most numbered parts still share the original 7607 serial, with the bolt mismatched (#1721 b) from a later replacement.
Sporterization centers on a hand-fitted walnut stock with pistol grip, shadow-line cheek-piece, checkered steel butt-plate, and sling studs—giving the rifle modern ergonomics while conserving classic lines. A 24-inch carbon-steel sporting barrel replaces the original carbine tube, crowned clean and blued to match the receiver.
Sighting is a blend of old and new: an aftermarket ramp front sight with blade pairs with the original Lange-Visier rear sight graduated to 2000 meters, offering both quick alignment and historical character. The turned-down bolt handle clears optics if ever added, and the standard Mauser flag safety remains intact.
The controlled-round-feed action feeds from a five-round internal magazine with hinged floor-plate—hallmarks of the Mauser system’s strength and reliability. Caliber is believed to be 8mm Mauser; always confirm chambering with a qualified gunsmith before firing.
